Black Lives Matter

     ( Black Lives Matter )         In reaction to the widespread shooting of unarmed African Americans, the Black Lives Matter (BLM) movement has emerged (Clayton, 2018). This movement has been active since the hashtag #BlackLivesMatter appeared in 2013, calling for respect for the humanity and worth of African Americans to be included in international policy discussions. A worldwide response has been heard to BLM's appeal to end the killing and devaluation of Black people and to recognize their inherent value. As students and supporters of fundamental human rights, we chose this topic because we think it is our civic duty to teach others about the movement's founding ideas and history.     References Clayton, D.
